pfk505 Forefather once again prove their superiority to all challengers.. majestic riffs, epic melodies, the brothers are at the top of their game. 20 years on, two sacred oaks stand! Favorite track: Two Sacred Oaks.

H.L. FOREFATHER are one of few bands, which are easily recognizable, as their melodic heathen metal has a lot of trademarks, especially the outstanding clean vocals. And they always deliver quality and fine songwriting. This EP is no exception and presents a variety of interesting songs, some more thrashy ("One blood and one bone"), others more melancholic and relaxed ("Out of time"). Favorite track: Out of Time.
Ric (the) Obscene
Ric (the) Obscene thumbnail
Ric (the) Obscene Forefather has always produced a solid, driving metal sound with a Madrigal (for lack of a better word) influence. This mix resulted in some amazingly intricate guitar work layered on top of an intense rhythm section. This EP once again ups the game in the Forefather legacy. It is a tapestry consisting of metal's blunt force trauma executed with surgical precision. Favorite track: Two Sacred Oaks.

Ken Hagdal With this new Ep, Forefather prove once again that they're one of the most consistent British bands in term of output quality. My favorite from the area along with Winterfylleth and Wodensthrone (RIP)

Bold they came from north and from south with hungry sword in hand There to face the conquering prince, bane of the borderlands Warriors famed in all of the realm, enforcers of their king Behold the sway of Godwin's sons, the purging power they bring Turning tides, bitterness rising as scheming foes connive Faithless men turn on their master, betray the doomed lord's life Tamed in war, ruthlessly crushed by the noble siblings' might Thrown before victorious feet is the severed head as prize Strong and glorious, two sacred oaks stand Fighting brothers of a cloud-born land Awesome towers hold aloft the skies Dark is the dawning sun should future strife arise Anger, frustrations swirl, rebels defy the earl Brother sent by the king, crisis, calamity He can't absolve the sin, kingdom before own kin Judgement, the earl deposed, banished, exiled Strong and glorious, two sacred oaks stand Fighting brothers of a cloud-born land Awesome towers hold aloft the skies Dark is the dawning sun should future strife arise

I see in your eyes the same fear that would bury me But together our resilience multiplies, a whirlwind of energy A synchronised, implacable war-machine, petty fueds aside Pressing forth, with the might of the rising sun, shield-walls collide For glittering gold our oneness we sold Divided we fade as darkness awaits One, blood, bone One blood and one bone Drive apart the enemy, spread them far and wide Break to bits their solid ranks, leave no place to hide Sow among their leading lights doubt and disbelief Overwhelm and run them down, deal them gloom and grief I hear fighting words, rousing poetry Sure and spirited verse inspires steadfast loyalty Rows, in unison lines draw near, fierce battle-cries Wild eyes, maniacal blood does boil, sworn foes collide For glittering gold our oneness we sold Divided we fade as darkness awaits One, blood, bone One blood and one bone

Sturdy companion to the master of fate Faithful retainer of the dark-elven blade War-weathered captain, no bow was as true Cruelly entwined in the dark foe's doom As his bonds are loosed he is roused With a prick of that treacherous blade A fit of wild rage and a lightning flash And revealed is his friend's lifeless face Despair! Quietly he comes by the captors at night Rescues the outlaw, settles his plight Hounded by thunder and the cold driving rain Now will the cursed victim be stirred from his tormented daze As his bonds are loosed he is roused With a prick of that treacherous blade A fit of wild rage and a lightning flash And revealed is his friend's lifeless face Despair!

Victory is upon us and the bold pretender repelled The sorry souls of the enemy by our will are routed and cwelled Now is the time for merriment though peril and pain is ahead So drink to our martial prowess and hail our glorious dead Gave their lives in the fight For tribe and their king Those of us who remain Shall feast in their name Deep into time our fighting men fell That ours might the kingdom still be Steadfast as stone, the last of the line Embroiled in a chorus of steel Sundown is upon us and the enemy is overcome Their flags and banners in tatters as the golden dragon flies on This is a time for revelry ere danger rises again So drink to our martial prowess and praise our valiant dead Left their blood on the field For tribe and for king Brothers here who still live We feast in their name Deep into time our fighting men fell That ours might the kingdom still be Steadfast as stone, the last of the line Embroiled in a chorus of steel Victory is upon us and the bold pretender repelled The sorry souls of the enemy by our will are routed and cwelled Now is the time for merriment though peril and pain is ahead So drink to our martial prowess and hail our glorious dead Gave their lives in the fight For tribe and their king Those of us who remain Shall feast in their name Feast in their name For tribe and for king Hail!

Out of Time 06:07
Out of time into today Drifting in through legend's lay Once into the bloody fray Turned to dust in open graves Lest we let the memories fade Cast the glories into shade Bleed away these fortunes made Curse the kindred bond away Scale again those fabled highs Ancient fears through newborn eyes Clear a path with grit and pride Find the spark that dwells inside Lest we let the memories fade Cast the glories into shade Bleed away these fortunes made Curse the kindred bond away Coming out of time Faces matched to mine Fated by design Running out of time To the edge of failures feared As the days turn into years
